Scimitar is delighted to announce a new partnership as the official merchandise provider for the Moy Park Belfast City Marathon events.

The Belfast City Marathon is one of the leading marathons in the UK and Ireland and is an AIMS certified race. Not to mention, the first and only marathon in Ireland to join the World Athletics Label Road Race Series. There is an event to suit all levels of fitness including a Marathon Run, Wheelchair Race, Team Relay and 8 Mile Walk. Attracting over 19,000 participants annually, the Moy Park Belfast City Marathon proudly secures its place as the largest mass sport participatory event in Northern Ireland. 2024 is set to be a sell out year across all events, and is sure to be the BIGGEST marathon the city has hosted in its 42 year history.

The Belfast City Half Marathon, Northern Ireland’s biggest half marathon event, is an incredible tour of the capital city, soaking in cultural landmarks like the towering Harland and Wolff cranes, the vibrant Custom House Square, and the majestic City Hall. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-timer, the flat, fast and strikingly scenic route is perfect.

Belfast City Marathon also organise the Moy Park Belfast City Women's 10K, hosted in Belfast's stunning Titanic Quarter. 2024 will see the arrival of the newest event in Belfast City Marathon's calendar - a festive 5K Fun Run.

Claire O’Neill, Executive Manager at Belfast City Marathon said: “We are thrilled to launch an official merchandise range with Scimitar. The collection will feature a quality hoodie, quarter zip top and training t-shirt – so there is something for participants and supporters alike. The garments are a great way to commemorate your achievement and make great keepsakes.”

Scimitar and Belfast City Marathon are both Members of Running Industry Alliance (RIA) and connected at The Running Conference in December, where the collaboration was created.

As an organisation that has sustainability at its core, we pride ourselves on working with events that share the same principles. As stated in their “Sustainability Promise”, Belfast City Marathon explain: "The Moy Park Belfast City Marathon is committed to a new environment promise to help reduce our carbon footprint and become more sustainable”.

Scimitar will assist the Moy Park Belfast City Marathon in their bid to become more sustainable, with the use of 100% recycled fabric as part of their merchandise range. Scimitar, as industry leaders in producing sustainable custom sportswear, will share all elements of our environmental expertise with the events sector to help develop more eco-friendly events.

Adam Yeomans, Mass Participation Manager at Scimitar, said: “Everyone at Scimitar is delighted to have signed a new deal with Belfast City Marathon and we’re looking forward to developing the partnership further in the years ahead”.
