Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon

For the first time in history event organisers sadly had to make the decision to cancel the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The 39th event was due to take place on Sunday 3rd May and had been postponed to Sunday 20th September 2020. Please see full statement HERE.

The 2021 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon will be held on Sunday 2nd May 2021 with a full line up of events to suit all levels of fitness including the Marathon and Wheelchair Race, the Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk and Fun Run.

All events will start at Stormont Estate and finish in Ormeau Park with the exception of the Fun Run which will start and finish in Stormont.

The event will be held on a Sunday again after Belfast made history hosting the event on a Sunday for the first time in 2019.

Around 20,000 participants are expected to hit the streets of North, South, East and West of the City.

In 2021 the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is sponsored by Deep RiverRock, Athletics Northern Ireland, Daily Mirror, Belfast City Council, Better, Translink, Spar, Belfast Live, Framar Health, Tayto, Cool FM (Downtown Radio and Downtown Country) and Four Star Pizza.

This year’s Official Charity Partner is Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.
