NI Primary School could WIN an exclusive place in the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Belfast

The organisers of the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon are delighted to work with Belfast City Council and their sponsors to provide the following money can’t buy prize experience exclusively to Primary Schools across Northern Ireland. 

YOUR Primary School could WIN a ST PATRICK’S DAY parade experience in Belfast on Tuesday 17th March 2020 including return Translink transport from your school to Belfast City Centre**

 

And that’s not all, the winning school will receive a special visit to their school on Monday 24th February! Taking place 10am – 1.30pm this includes:

  • BEAT who organise the parade carnival activities, will provide a 3-hour workshop to make props and costume items for the St Patrick’s Day Parade. The theme is “Environment”
  • Meet and greet with Mr Tayto and the Better Dolphin mascot and goodies bags
  • Lunch from Four Star Pizza
  • 5 x Fun Run entries for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon (Sunday 3rd May 2020)

The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Daniel Baker commented: “Belfast City Council is delighted to work with the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon on their new Primary School competition which aims to promote health and wellbeing in schools and encourage kids to get involved in sustainability projects.  This year’s St Patrick’s Day parade is themed around protecting the environment and climate change and we look forward to welcoming the winning school who will participate in our parade on St Patricks Day in Belfast”.

 

Ursula Henderson, PR Manager at Translink said: “As the Official Transport Partner for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon events, we’re very excited to get involved in this fantastic school competition.  Reflecting this year’s parade theme, tackling climate change is a top priority for our business and we’re encouraging everyone to use the bus and train more often as a cleaner and greener way to travel.”

 

How do you enter the competition?

 

Your school can download an application form now HERE.

 

Forms must be completed and submitted via email to elaine.riddell@belfastcitymarathon.org or post to the Marathon Office by Friday 31st January.  ONE Primary School class will be randomly drawn from all valid entries w/c 3rd February 2020 and contacted thereafter to organize their prize.

**Prize is valid for a maximum of 50 people.  Transport is for a maximum of 50 including teachers and guardians.

 

The 39th Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon will take place from the iconic Stormont Estate on Sunday 3rd May 2020, with a full line up of events to suit all levels of fitness including the Marathon and Wheelchair Race, the Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk and Fun Run.   Participants are encouraged to #MakeItCount in 2020 and run, walk or wheel for Official Charity Partner, Cancer Focus NI to help more people survive from cancer.

 

Entries can be made via mobile or desktop at www.belfastcitymarathon.com with a middle rate available until Friday 28th February 2020.  Final entry will be on 10th April 2020.
