Join the Moy Park Belfast City Marathon Marshalled Mile

The Marshalled Mile scheme is a fantastic opportunity for your group to have a fun-filled and rewarding experience while making a positive impact on your local community.

With the Marshalled Mile scheme, groups, clubs, sports teams, societies, and organisations are invited to take volunteering responsibility of a particular section of the course. Groups are encouraged to ‘take over’ their allocated mile and brand the area with the likes of flags and banners.

Why not represent your local area and look after the course section closest to ‘home’ for your group? Or claim a mile on the course that runners need that much needed boost of encouragement? The routes pass through North, South, East and West of the vibrant historic capital, passing many iconic landmarks along the way – sign up early to avoid missing your ideal mile!

Volunteers will have the satisfaction of knowing they are making an invaluable contribution to the largest mass sport participatory event in Northern Ireland, and helping raise much needed funds for charities. All volunteers will receive branded kit and a goodie bag. Not only that, but groups who register 5 or more volunteers will be given complimentary entry for the event as a token of thanks.

Your group will be undertaking a vital role as course marshals in navigating participants around the course and alerting and advising traffic as they approach road closures. The atmosphere around the course will be electric, with lots of entertainment, cheer stations and spectators lining the streets – we hope you will add to this with lots of energy and enthusiasm!

Your group will assist in the distribution of all important race packs. Groups are encouraged to wear their branded gear. The atmosphere at the TEC will be immense, with heaps of t exhibitors, entertainment, competitions and giveaways – we hope you will add to the participants experience with lots of energy and enthusiasm!

The Marshalled Mile is a great PR and CSR opportunity to showcase your group to thousands of participants and spectators. It’s great exposure too - feel free to erect a club gazebo, display banners, play music, and create as much buzz and atmosphere as you can to give participants that much needed extra boost. This is YOUR home marathon, let’s make it one to be proud off!

Marshalling on behalf of The Daily Mile Stranmillis University brought a unique joy, embodying the spirit of community health and wellbeing. As we stood on the side lines, we witnessed the determination etched on the runners’ faces as all participants of all ages embraced the commitment to a healthier lifestyle. Their energy was contagious and the air buzzed with excitement as we cheered, offered encouragement, and echoed their determination in their gruelling journey, one step at a time.  The atmosphere was vibrant with positivity, endurance and determination. Serving as a Daily Mile marshal and being part of the monumental Belfast City Marathon movement, has truly been a fulfilling, rewarding and enjoyable experience.

We really enjoyed the Expo and meeting people from all around the world who travelled to take part in the Belfast City Marathon. Heard many stories and got to dish out local tips for visiting Belfast! The day flew in! Totally recommend other clubs getting involved in the Expo, we were all buzzing and inspired, and all agreed to definitely come back next year.
