Get your School Moving and WIN with the Moy Park Belfast City Marathon in partnership with the Daily Mile NI

The Moy Park Belfast City Marathon are partnering with the NI Daily Mile Network to encourage pupils to get active in the lead up to the 42nd Belfast City Marathon on Sunday 5th May 2024.

The Daily Mile inspires our young people to get active, at their own pace, for 15 minutes during the school day. Its impact can be transformational – improving not only the children’s fitness, but also their concentration levels, mood, behaviour and general wellbeing.

As such, Belfast City Marathon have incredible prizes up for grabs for pupils, teachers and parents – and we want to see YOUR pupils take on the Daily Mile Superhero challenge dressed up as their favourite superhero… this could be a Marvel superhero, a famous sportsperson or even a family member - the list is endless!

So how can you get involved?

  • Your school must be registered with the Daily Mile, and you can do this at https://thedailymile.co.uk/school-signup/ 
  • Evidence of participating in the challenge can be through videos, images, storytelling etc.
  • Evidence can be posted or emailed via the methods below no later than 23rd February 2024.

What do you get;

  • All participating schools will receive a digital certificate to award them for their participation.
  • Discount code for participation into the 2024 Moy Park Belfast City Marathon and Half Marathon*

Who will win;

Pupils

  • 4 lucky classes (2 classes P1 – P3 and 2 classes P4 – P7, up to 25 pupils from each) will be invited to the Moy Park Belfast City Marathon Expo and Pack Collection on Friday 3rd May 2024.
  • Complimentary transport to the Expo and Pack Collection sponsored by Translink.
  • Fun Warm up hosted by Better.
  • Participation in a Daily Mile challenge to win spot prizes whilst showcasing the new relay baton system for the 2024 relay runners, each child will receive a unique medal.
  • Introductory child friendly session on the importance of the lifesaving Air Ambulance NI service
  • Lunch provided by Moy Park and goodie bag.

Schools

  • Each of the 4 classes will receive a donation of £250 for their school from Belfast City Marathon.

Teachers

  • All 4 teachers/assistants will receive a complimentary entry for an event of their choice from the Moy Park Belfast City Marathon calendar of events along with a goodie bag.

Terms and conditions

  1. This competition is exclusively for schools based in Northern Ireland.
  2. By entering the competition, you give permission for Belfast City Marathon and partnering bodies to use the photography and videography submitted for promotional purposes.
  3. ALL schools must add their school’s name and identify what class group has taken part. If the entire school participates, please indicate this.
  4. Discount codes for schools will be 10% for a 5-day period. Dates dependent on the date which the Marathon Office receives the evidence.
