Traffic advice, parking and transport information

Please find below information to help you plan ahead with your travel for Sunday 3rd October 2021.  Together with our partners Belfast City Council, Department of Infrastructure, PSNI and Translink, we are providing the following free parking and transport options.

ROAD CLOSURES

On Sunday 3rd October 2021 at 9am the Marathon will commence, followed by the Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk and Fun Run events, from Stormont Estate (Prince of Wales Avenue) in a bid to complete the 39th Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon.  All events will finish in Ormeau Park with the exception of the Fun Run which starts and finishes at Stormont Estate.

The marathon route encompasses North, East, South and West of the city.

In line with road closure legislation, a road closure order has been applied for and motorists should expect some disruption.  Where possible stewards will facilitate traffic and ensure any disruption is kept to a minimum.  Motorists are asked to follow diversion signs and take direction from stewards on the route.

Roads will start to close wholly or partially from around 6am until 4.30pm approximately.

Once all runners have passed points on the route, reopening of the roads will be managed.  Times for this are available on the Belfast City Council road closure website and by clicking HERE.
